These bike hoists are an excellent value, as you get TWO hoist set-ups for LESS than the price of just one! They are heavier duty than a lot of the ones I have seen out there, and the fact that you get two, to hang two bikes, is amazing. They arrived just three days after I ordered them. They were packaged very nicely, and there were NO scratches, dents, dings or missing paint on any of the parts. And, like the add says, the rope they use is easily three times thicker than the other brands!!

I previously bought similar, but more expensive bike lifts from a local store. The price was right on these lifts but you give up a little quality. For instance, the pulleys are narrower than the frame they're in, which makes it easier to get the rope off the pulley track and stuck. They also don't lock as easy as the more expensive models. But they're still workable.

I have a few of these lifts, two made by a different company which were slightly more expensive. They all seem to have similar hardware but the ropes on the more expensive ones are clearly higher quality. Not a big deal yet, but I could see the rope getting frayed/worn out over time with these. For the money, unbeatable price...if the day comes when I need to replace the rope, no big deal, I'll go to Home Depot and buy what I need.

Needs longer screws. I put them up with the standard screws directly through sheetrock but it fell out of the ceiling nearly hitting us in the head the first time we tried to use it. I purchased longer screws and now it's solid. Other than that, well built.

Installation can be a tad tedious, depending on how the 2x4s were put in the ceiling. For either case a decent description is available in the installation instructions, you just may need to run an extra errand to the hardware store to get the needed extras if you're unlucky (in terms of the layout of the 2x4s in the ceiling).

These bike hoists work well & seem to be sturdy enough. If I had to nitpick I would point out that the pulleys should be wider; as it is they can (when not under load) allow the rope to flip off & get caught between the pulley & the mounting bracket. That has happened to me several times & requires digging the rope out of that recess & manually rerouting it back into the pulley. But for the money, these are pretty darn nice. By the way, I'm an engineer, so I nitpick for a living.

Installs easily. Also bought the Kayak system and it is more heavy duty and flexible. Screws are close to the edge of the two by four they recommend you use. I would use a 2 by six to make it easier to use holes.

I saw these on sale a while back and was going to wait until a little later in the day to purchase them. When I went back on line they were sold out. I was excited to see them on sale again and this time purchased them right away.
